Madi Franquiz knows firsthand how to achieve great things despite challenging circumstances.

 

The “3rd Grade Benchmark,” is indicative of future success a child will have in school. It was a benchmark that Madi missed. Living in poverty during her 2nd grade year, her family struggled with access to basic necessities of life, including books. Madi never dreamed that someone like her could one day attend college, much less write a book, or compete for Miss Texas. The culmination of her experiences as a child made her feel worthless, and she chased a life without purpose. Madi chased things to make her feel worthy, until she finally had enough. Within a short time, Madi's life completely changed and she began living out both her passion and purpose. Today, Madi is a graduate student pursuing degrees in both Communications and Christian Ministry. In 2022, Madi was named the youngest founding member of the World Literacy Task Force. She currently serves as its first Youth Ambassador. She is an author, having self-published eight children’s books. She even delivered an address at the World Literacy Summit in Oxford, England to over 40,000 people around the globe. Madi beat the statistics.

Madi's mission is simple: to ensure that every child has the opportunity to acquire the literacy skills and books they need to become exactly who they were created to be. In the last 6 months, Madi has traveled over 30,000 miles on speaking engagements to encourage her audience with a simple message: life is all about choices- choose purpose. She also equips audiences with those same ideas that transformed her life despite her circumstances.
